About J&M
Grandpa Stanley Silloway purchased the farm in 1940’s. The land on the Westfield town map was designated with the name Poverty Plains. At the time it was an active chicken farm, Silloway Poultry. A virus spread in our area and chicken farming was no longer possible.
Stanley pivoted and created the Silloway dairy farm. The milk parlor is the first white building you pass in the driveway. In the 70’s Stanley passed leaving the farm to his wife Elizabeth.
In 1979 Stanley’s youngest daughter (our mother) Mary transitioned the farm to an equine boarding facility with her than husband James.
The barn became J&M Stables.
J&M Stables LLC
In 2007 Clay met Vanessa, a horse crazy woman. They married in 2015 and created the LLC in 2016. The farm has expanded tremendously post-COVID.
The facility now includes a newly constructed additional barn with stalls, an indoor arena, and an anouncers booth for events. The new space we loving call The Hollywood Electric Arena at J&M Stables in honor of our close friend Jimmy Novak.
J&M is also home to over thirty acres of mixed land. You can ride in the indoor, outdoor, lit round pen, around the cleared field, or on the trails. There is something for all horse enthusiasts.
