Experience the Best at J&M Stables

What Our Boarders Say

I was looking for a family barn where care was paramount. A wonderful family run farm where the care of the animals is priority over everything else. I know that I will be called if my horse sneezes differently than normal, or if he is acting strangely.

Vanessa is one of the best horsewomen I have had the please to know in my 25 years of horse ownership. ~ Jeanie

J&M is a hidden gem in Westfield! Vanessa is a great instructor and so good with my girls. She’s thorough with her lessons, and the girls have learned not only to ride, but also all aspects of horsemanship, safety, care & feeding, tack care and maintenance and more. We look forward to our “barn day” every week at J&M. ~ Becca

I was looking for full board at a barn where I would feel confident that my horse would be valued and well cared for. I have boarded my horse at J & M Stables for 2 1/2 years and have been extremely happy with the care provided as well as appreciate the relaxed, friendly barn atmosphere!

Vanessa Maloney, along with her husband Clay, are devoted to providing the best possible care to the horses in their charge. From feeding three meals per day all customized to meet the specific needs of each individual horse, to Vanessa’s vigilance in noticing even the slightest change in a horse’s condition, I know that my horse is in the right place.

Additionally, having been a relatively new horse owner when I arrived at J & M, Vanessa’s vast knowledge of horses has been invaluable to me. She is a true horse woman who values the health and well being of the horses above anything else – not always an easy thing to find in the horse world! ~ Karen

My horse had to be moved from the place she called home for more than 10 years due to change in ownership. While looking for a barn she was placed at a temporary home. She declined rapidly, which broke my heart. As I searched for the right place J&M was on my radar. I spoke with Vanessa and met her and her husband Clay. They were amazing and I knew if anyone could get my horse back on track and thriving it would be at J&M.

It took just over 6 months, 3 to 4 small feeds per day and lots of love and care to getting my horse to gain weight (she was closed to 200 lbs under weight if not more). She is now full of life, spunk, and her joy in every breath she takes.

No one was even sure she’d survive the move let alone bounce back like she did. Thank you to Vaness, Clay, their son Jake and all the other boarders who welcomed us. ~ Patty
